These articles under our Mind section have far more self-growth lessons to give as opposed to the Spirit Articles, but in a more subtle fashion. Don’t get me wrong, even if you don’t have depression, anger issues or shyness, each article focuses on a wide array of areas where the lessons extend far beyond the scope of the initial topic. This is also the area where you may reflect on my own lousy mistakes to help better prepare yourself for any similar situation.

In this article, you will learn the following...

1. An Overview of Sadness, Sorrow and Depression and Ways in Which It Interferes With All Of Our Other Thoughts

2. The Possible Causes of Depression, Sorrow and Depression From Living a Day to Day Routine to Obsessing Over Others

3. Ways In Which We Can Overcome Our Own Thoughts of Inferiority, Ultimately, Overcoming Our Sadness

4. Advanced Steps Towards Overcoming Our Sadness and Sorrow (eBook)

Coping with Sadness, Sorrow and Depression

Well, let’s move on to a more depressing topic that goes hand in hand with everything above and below this topic, sadness, sorrow and depression. If you read everything else, you probably know how this topic ties in with just about everything else.

Voids = Sadness, Sorrow and Depression

Anger = Sadness, Sorrow and Depression

Disconnection = Sadness, Sorrow and Depression

Lost Love = Sadness, Sorrow and Depression

Shyness - Sadness, Sorrow and Depression

Yeah, I know; these emotions linger behind every other negative emotion. With that said, the best way to combat it is to dispel these emotions of negativity. Easier said than done right? It’s all about self-discipline. Our emotions don’t have to control us. If we can gain an understanding as to the mechanics behind our thoughts and feelings, then we can manipulate our emotions. The key to THAT is “deep understanding and wide perspective” with life and ourselves, as you’ve probably heard me say a trillion times :). So, let’s take a look at your life and where you stand. Of course, I can’t pinpoint what’s causing you this terrible feeling of isolation, but, I’ll do my best to give a few general viewpoints that should, at the very least, have a connection with your own story.

There seem to be a few reasons for this silly emotion that many people label as a disease of the mind. As such, they suggest pills and drugs to “control” us. Really now, considering every drug that alters our mood has a negative side effect, it shouldn’t be taken, it’s not meant to be taken by the body. I recall hearing about a pill for depression, but a possible side effect was suicide. WHAT THE HECK!? No, to me, it’s all about the way we choose to interpret things. To me, sadness, sorrow and depression just occurs when we choose to symbolize our own setbacks as personal failures. We then view these personal failures as a part of who we are and subsequently choose not to seek to understand why or how we can improve. So, with nothing being done, we accept it and dwell on it. With inaction, nothing changes. Otherwise, in my opinion, the way in which we dispel feelings of sadness and whatnot is through stimulating activities, fun, in simpler terms.

It does make sense right? Fun is the polar opposite of sadness. When you’re laughing, playing and doing the things you love to do, nothing else matters. :D But, let's get into some things that may cause this....

Causes and Solutions for Depression

LIVING IN A DAY-TO-DAY ROUTINE

Oftentimes though, feelings of sadness, sorrow and depression can be caused by living in a routine. This is me. I REFUSE to live in this ridiculous state (New Jersey) for the rest of my life. That, to me, is the ultimate failure. I’m an adventurer; I want to travel the world; I want to see Earth for ALL of its beauty and serenity. I’m a kid of nature. ^_^ But now I’m rambling... the point is, you should mix things up a bit. What’s that one thing you’ve always wanted to do? Skydive right? Try to work that into your schedule. Martial Arts? Join a Dojo.

THROW SOME “CHAOS” INTO YOUR LIFE.

LIVING LIFE BY “ORDER” CAN GET SO BORING.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO SPEND ALL OF YOUR TIME WORKING AT YOUR PROFESSION.

Remember, the key to life is happiness.

If you have to downsize your home to increase your funds, if it’s for the sake of introducing some fun into your life, BY ALL MEANS DO IT NOW!

WHAT IS THE POINT OF WORKING 14 HOURS A DAY JUST TO MAINTAIN A LARGE HOME IF IT MEANS YOU’RE MISERABLE!?

For me personally, I’d easily choose to live in a garbage can if it meant I could have fun and subsequently be happy with my life 24/7, while still surviving that is. ;) OKAY, that example was a little too extreme, but you get my point.

CHOOSING TO FOCUS ON THE LIVES OF OTHERS, RATHER THAN YOUR OWN

There is something I truly can not stand, and that’s when people become infatuated with the life and doings of so-called celebrities. It’s so ridiculous when you commit yourself to knowing every possible detail about someone’s life, and yet you yourself can’t remember what you were doing 2 weeks ago. This type of thinking may also get in the way of your own success.

THE FOCUSING ON A CELEBRITY’S LIFE MERELY DISTRACTS YOU FROM FULFILLING YOUR OWN

There seem to be two possible reasons why people worry so much about “stars.”

  • Just Curious
  • Because their own life is full of mediocrity

It’s natural  to want what is not ours. To many of us, celebrities live the lives we can only dream of, but time out, why CAN’T it be ours? Let’s look at it from a different perspective,

“What is the difference between YOU and the star of which you are obsessed with?”

Acting Ability seems to be the only major difference, right? What’s that, looks too? I disagree with that, but sure, WHY NOT!? Let’s look a little closer though, it’s pretty safe to say that these “stars” got to where they were due to acting lessons right? Simple enough. The result of those acting lessons wielded worldwide fame and fortune. With that fortune, they’re easily able to alter their appearance to a level of which we are not used to.

Let’s sum this up. Stars got to where they were by taking action. For the most part, they were not born with supernatural acting talent or otherworldly beauty. They were, mainly, born into a regular lifestyle, just as you were. They got to where they are by capitalizing on the talents they learned.

THE FACT THAT YOU’RE OBSESSING OVER THEIR LIVES PREVENTS YOU FROM CAPITALIZING ON THE SKILLS YOU YOURSELF ARE NOT AWARE OF POSSESSING.

Stars are not any different from you, or me. You possess strengths that they do not, and vise versa. Stop wishing you were them and start leading your life utilizing the talents you yourself have.

WHEN YOU FOCUS ON THOSE WHO YOU THINK ARE ABOVE YOU, THAT COMPARISON CREATES A LONGING. THAT LONGING TURNS TO RESENTMENT TOWARDS YOUR OWN LIFE. THAT RESENTMENT FOR YOUR LIFE TURNS TO SADNESS, SORROW AND DEPRESSION.

Jennifer Aniston = Acting = Fame and Fortune

Emeril Lagasse = Cooking = Fame and Fortune

Donald Trump = Business = Fame and Fortune

Valentino Garavani = Fashion = Fame and Fortune

Fame and Fortune are not limited to acting. Everyone on that list took their talent and improved upon it, eventually gaining what we ourselves envy. SO CAN YOU!

STOP FANTASIZING ABOUT THEM

START LOOKING TOWARDS WHAT YOU CAN DO AND MAKE IT BETTER

Take your talent and make it big.

LACKING THE ACCEPTANCE TO ENJOY YOURSELF

With so many scattered personalities out there, there are bound to be those who can’t look outside their own scope of vision, as a result, they see those outside their spectrum as, too different. Perhaps the root of your woes is a feeling of rejection and subsequently, isolation. Don’t take this rejection as a sign that something’s wrong with you, that will just lead you to take your anger out on yourself.

Gangs are only a temporary solution. From observation, you are only accepted on a performance basis. The goal of gangs is control (turf), power (weapons) and money (drugs). On the outside, it may seem like you’re cared for, but there is no true acceptance, it’s all about getting things done. Once you’re killed in action, you are swiftly replaced and forgotten, and that’s typically a matter of “when” not “if.” Not only that, but because of the ongoing, endless gang wars that rage continuously, you're putting the lives of innocents in danger. That's NO good.

If you want a genuine feeling of acceptance, look to friends that you can relate to.

Yeah, I know, “I’ve been rejected by so many people, how is “friends” an option still?”

I’ve been rejected too, so I know how you feel, but eventually, out of all the millions of people out there, I found some awesome friends in the same area. They also choose not to do drugs, party and get drunk, etc. And believe me, the place I live in is filled with so many people who value “partying, drinking and drugs” more so than the purity of having a little self-restraint, but alas, I‘m rambling again. My point being that, no matter what your type of friend is, they’re out there. So, as my typical solution goes, “don’t stay in your shell.” attempt to find these friends because, once you find the right person, they’ll stick with ya forever, it’s just a matter of finding the courage to put yourself out there first.

FRIENDS ARE THERE FOR A REASON. THEY CAN EASE YOUR EMPTINESS WITH FUN, KINDNESS AND UNDERSTANDING, THUS IS WHY THEY ARE FRIENDS.

LACKING THE MONEY TO ENJOY LIFE

“Money can’t buy happiness.”

When you don’t have it though, you’re probably feeling the opposite is true. And, I’m not going to be naïve and agree with that phrase 100%.

Money = More Things To Do

More Things To Do = More Stimulation

More Stimulation = Less Thoughts of Depression

True, with money, you can do more things which, ultimately, leads to a more exciting life. But, the problem you’re probably having is how to get it. The best answer is to rob a bank, but that’s a bad joke since prison life is a CONSTANT cycle of routine. ;) We’re going to revisit the points of my earlier segments, “planning.”

ANYTHING IN THIS LIFE IS POSSIBLE WITH A WELL FORMULATED PLAN

Of course, REALISTICALLY, I mean, you can’t form a good plan on how to harness your body’s aura to use in propelling yourself into the air, thus flight, at least not YET. :D What I mean is, find out your intention and create a chain-graph representing the steps needed to take in order to make it a reality. Of course, this type of thinking can be applied to any goal you have, but in this case, the basis for this chain-graph is to solidify your goal with detailed steps. The theme of your goal is to make money. Let’s take a look at this simplified example.

You get it. The more steps you have, the less confused you’ll get, the more confident you’ll become. From there, it’ll just be a matter of putting your plan into action.

REMEMBER, THERE WILL BE TIMES WHEN SACRIFICES ARE MANDATORY IN ORDER FOR YOUR GOAL TO BE REALIZED. DON’T GET DISCOURAGED AND WASTE ALL THE TIME AND EFFORT YOU ORIGINALLY PUT INTO IT

In my observations though, there are three main paths to take in order to make some of that green we all could use.

  1. High Paying Job
  2. The Internet
  3. Your Own Business

A. A High Paying Job is the worst way to make money, while maintaining happiness, in my personal opinion. For one, this method usually requires some sort of college degree. This is one thing I can’t stand about jobs. As if a degree is the only way to prove your abilities. AND in order to get that degree, you’re most likely going to end up in piles of debt, and to me, it’s totally not worth it. Another thing is, it still requires a massive amount of your time usually, but, if it’s for something you would enjoy doing, by all means, go for it.

B. As you’ve probably heard before, when it comes to making a fortune, the internet is the way to go. However, many scams out there discourage this method. But, believe me, there are very well known ways to make money online. It’s, usually, not a get rich quick method, but with enough patience, research and effort, it is extremely possible to make a living doing, relatively, nothing. For that to happen, it all starts with creating your own website, which is easier than you think really.

This web design website teaches you how to create a fully functional website with very little coding experience necessary. Take a look if you’d like to know how it’s done.

C. Ah, entrepreneurship. Taking life into your own hands. Indeed, the feeling of not answering to anyone other than yourself in itself is super amazing. :D However, as this is the most profitable, it is also requires the most work, on your part. Though, from personal experience, the one thing that’s probably holding you back is fear of the unknown and not being sure how to go about it.

SADNESS, SORROW AND DEPRESSION WILL NOT GO AWAY ON THEIR OWN

YOU MUST FIND OUT WHAT IT IS YOU TRULY WANT.

WHETHER IT BE MONEY, COMPANIONS, LOVE, OR ACCEPTANCE… THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY TO COMBAT THOSE EMOTIONS. BY NOT DOING ANYTHING, YOU ONLY PROPEL YOURSELF FURTHER DOWN A CYCLE OF SADNESS AS TIME PASSES YOU BY.
